Korean Traditional Reinditation Interior
The Bugaboo studio has reinterpreted 'Sarang-bang' modernly, which was traditionally used as a reception room in Korea.
Sotdae, an old symbol of Korea, meaning blessing and happiness, was reinterpreted and used as a modern interior object.
This version of a window bar, which is created as a partition of ‘Love-Room’, is decorated with flowers and trees in the forest based on the conception of ‘Firefly forest’.
Another art work of our series ‘Horongbul’, which is designed with the window bar, is a stand light shedding light on the Korean traditional reception room ‘Sarangbang’. We got a motive of this work from firefly’s glow in the dark night and warmth of light.
The warmth in 'The Sarang-bang',which is familiar in Koreans,is expressed in the soft light of a glowing firefly. In addition, 'Sotdae', an old symbol of Korea, meaning blessing and happiness, was reinterpreted and used as a modern interior object. Also, expressed patern using familiar character of Bugaboo. Inspired by the traditional furniture and design such as 'Chang-Sal(muntin)', 'Byung-Poong(folding screen)', 'Seo-Ahn(writing table)'
